Strange A/C experience with my 2013 Honda CR-V

I ran into a weird issue with my 2013 Honda CR-V. Every time I pressed the A/C button, the PGM-FI light popped on. It left me puzzled, so here I am in this community asking for help

I ran into a weird issue with my 2013 Honda CR-V. Every time I pressed the A/C button, the PGM-FI light popped on. It left me puzzled, so here I am in this community asking for help

I've seen the same issue in a few of my friends' CRVs, and the common cause for this kind of problem is the A/C compressor clutch.
When the clutch engages, it puts a big load on the engine. If the clutch is failing or seizing up, it could be putting too much strain on the engine, which triggers the PGMFI light because the engine's computer thinks there's a problem.
you need to have a mechanic check the A/C system for any signs of a failing compressor or clutch

Thanks @BroMike2025 I'll have a mechanic check the A/C clutch or compressor, has anyone fixed this on a 2013 CR-V without replacing the entire A/C system?
