CR-V 2023 transmission fluid swap

my 23' CR-V hit 50,000 miles so I figured its time for a transmission fluid swap. the drain plug was stuck tighter than a lid on a pickle jar! i grabbed a pipe wrench to cheat on my little ratchet it got all hyped when it budged.. the tip of my cheapo wrench extension (a 60 year old kMart special from dad) twisted right off into the bolt. no biggie, though i yanked the plug out with the pipe wrench and fished the broken bits out with a screwdriver.. i wiped some funky black dust off the magnet then slapped it back in.

Such a hassle! im too scared about things like this happening so i just bring em to a shop nearby. but glad to know that it worked for u

That's quite an adventure on the fluid change! just curious, what's the brand of the tranny fluid that you used? was it any good?

I feel you with the drain plug struggle! What I would do sometime is hit a stuck plug with rubber mallet to shock it loose before resorting to extreme measures lol

fluid change is always a hassle, man. although I don't like to do it, I also don't like to spend money on something tht I can do it myself

Everything went smoothly after putting the drain plug back in or did the CRV throw you any curveballs? Hope your dad's 60 y/o wrench got a proper farewell after the battle!
