My 2021 CRV exl got stolen a month ago outside my friend's apartment. It wasn't stolen with the keys because i had them so i don't know what happened. I tried using the Hondalink but I think the phone's location has to be connected before I can track it. I don't know, is this a lost cause? or dies anyone know any other way I could go about it and also an idea of how the car must've been stolen so it can be prevented

hondalink should find your car regardless of your phones location it uses the gps in the car. the reason youre car got stolen is a problem that Hondas with keyless entry have. the newer models are fine but the older ones aren fixed so its a problem. the solution is a faraday pouch and an ghost imobilizer

damn. there are still car thieves nowadays huh. best be careful. I am pretty sure they did a relay attack for the keyless entry. have you already filed a police report with your VIN? either way you should do that because stolen cars get recovered by the police. and you should not only focus on hondalink, try checking out nearby cameras too. agree with this one. so you need to be very careful if ever you take it back.

No wayyyy, i immediately thought about maybe they hot wired it but yeah it could some tech bypass by expert thieves. anyway a month ago? did u ever report it to the police? its also a police matter you know dont just rely on hondalink

Man, this is a big deal! I hope you were able to report this to the police like what everyone else is saying here. curious what it says on Hondalink too, is there an error message or notif?

So sorry for your loss... I don't know how to help. My car has a separate AirTag so I can track it wherever. Hope that works for you.
