Took my wife and my 3yo princess to Six Flags earlier. Otw there my kid started screaming... wife and I panicked and didn't know why until a rat came crossing my dashboard. Thinking this brand new car, although that's probably not it, has become a rat haven due to some components or something... Is that possible? Going crazy over here never had any rats appear in my home for 43 years. What's this now.

Yikes! that sounds like a handful man, how about getting a cat for damage control haha. just kidding, now here's the serious answer, I never heard of a brand new car having a mouse problem, try to check if they live outside of the car or inside it. Try putting a trap to get those critters, good luck!

I'm sorry but this is funny at first glance, but damn that's just dreadful, I don't think they are living in it and its infested though, perhaps if its a recurrent event then its a cause for alarm, but if it was a one time thing then maybe the rat just got in somehow

hey, trying to take the serious route here but I can't help giggle a little. I just want to ask if you eat in your car, because that's another reason why. go for a full blown car wash then.

sorry man but I'd have to agree wth @doxiehotdoxie and @rocksolid.joe , so don't panic too much yet
a rat on the dashboard, what's not to panic about? a rodent chewing through something is absolutely nothing to worry about

@fifth.ghostbuster Was this an isolated incident or a common one? You might need to inspect for a nest or take it to a shop to have it checked out. Rodents are a problem, especially with wiring what has a soy based insulation, which most new cars do
